November 5, 2009 ...Bethesda, MD SRI in the Rockies, the largest and longest running sustainable and responsible investing conference in the world, announced that Reggie Stanley, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Calvert Group, Ltd., and Robert Zevin, founder of Robert Brooke Zevin Associates
were selected as co-winners of the 2009 SRI Service Award. The prestigious SRI Service Award is given each year to individuals whose work has advanced the understanding and practice of sustainable and responsible investing. The award was presented at the annual social investment industry conference known as “SRI in the Rockies,” which was held October 25-28 in Tucson, Arizona. The award is recognition and celebration of Mr. Stanley’s and Mr. Zevin’s contributions to the sustainable and responsible investment industry.
Winners are selected based on a number of criteria, including leadership within the sustainable and responsible investment industry; significant innovations in SRI investing, communication and cooperation with other professionals in the industry, and success in improving the public’s awareness and acceptance of SRI. The SRI Service Award is presented at the SRI in the Rockies Conference which is produced by First Affirmative Financial Network in collaboration with the Social Investment Forum.
“I am quite honored to receive the SRI Service Award,” said Mr. Stanley. “Sharing that honor with Robert Zevin, one of the industry’s founders, is just incredible. It’s really wonderful to be recognized by peers in such a way, but really, I have been fortunate to work with a wide range of professionals who are all committed to growing SRI awareness.”
“Reggie is an outstanding leader in the sustainable investment movement and a profoundly thoughtful spokesperson for investors seeking to mesh their values with their portfolio strategies,” said Tim Smith, a Senior Vice President at Walden Asset Management who worked closely with Mr. Stanley as a past chairman of the Social Investment Forum Board. “His work with the Social Investment Forum’s search committee to help us hire our first CEO was a major contribution to the Forum’s life and work. He deeply deserves this award recognizing his contributions and talents.”
“Reggie has been a phenomenal advocate for sustainable investment,” says Frank Coleman, Executive Vice President at Christian Brothers Investment Services and a former Social Investment Forum Board director. “He has very strong convictions, and a talent for thinking strategically about the future of socially responsible investing. Yet he also has a gentle approach and a great respect for other people’s ideas, which makes it a real pleasure to work with him.”
Kathy Leonard, Vice President – Investments at UBS Financial Services, Inc., who has served on the Social Investment Forum Board with Mr. Stanley for six years, says, “Reggie had a unique ability to know and honor the history of social investing and to marry that with the wisdom to be able to build for its future. He stepped up and took on some of the most challenging tasks the Forum had and always did an amazing job during a time of change and growth.”
